Queenaire products are brought to you by a management team with over 30 years of experience in the ozone industry. All of our products incorporate the most up to date ozone generating technology available today. Additionally, our trained service team offers maintenance and repair on several different make and models of ozone equipment.
Q) How Do QT Generators Produce Ozone?
A) All QT ozone units incorporate a technology referred to as corona discharge. This technology duplicates the effect of lightning by using a high voltage transformer, which passes the electricity to a screen less plate design, which in effect produces lightning in a box. It is here that the (O2) molecule is split, creating the single Oxygen atom, which recombines to create (O3) Ozone.
Q) Does My QT Ozone Generator Require Maintenance?
A) All ozone generators that allow air to pass through the unit will eventually get dirty. The amount of maintenance required depends greatly on the design of the unit itself and the environment the unit is exposed to. Any internal components exposed to the airflow will become dirty and require cleaning. Units used in smoking areas will develop a thick, sticky substance on all of the exposed elements. All QT models are designed to minimize exposure to the electrical components. Therefore, maintenance can generally be completed in less than ten minutes. Simply remove the top of the unit, wipe down the generator frame and plate with an alcohol wipe and replace the top cover. Your unit is now ready to go back to work.
Q) How and Where Do I Get Service On My Ozone Unit?
A) All QT models are backed by a full 5-year parts and labor warranty. If there is a problem with your QT ozone unit, nine times out of ten, a simple phone call to our service department will give you the answer to fixing the problem yourself. If you need to return your unit for service, we have a highly trained service team specializing in the maintenance and repair of most types of ozone generators. So whether you are having a problem with a QT unit or another manufacturers model, call The Ozone Specialist to make arrangements for shipment at 1-888-995-1570
Q) What Are The Benefits Of Using Ozone?
A) Ozone is very effective in eliminating odors including tobacco smoke, human and pet odors, food odors, mold and mildew odors, garbage odors, renovation odors and much more. It is not a re-odorant. It totally destroys the offending gases that are the source of everything we smell. Unlike many other deodorizing methods, ozone actually searches out and destroys the problem gases. It will react with contaminants in the air, water, fabrics and on the surface of the walls and ceilings. Unlike other types of air purification systems, an ozone generator does not depend on the air passing through the machine to do its job. Ozone generators also produce large quantities of ions via the corona discharge. The ions cause the dust particles to agglomerate, and precipitate from the air, leaving a cleaner environment.
Q) How Much Ozone Do I Need To Completely Eliminate Odors?
A) Eliminating odors with ozone in a given area is very similar to keeping a pool clean with chlorine. It all depends on the environment you are working in. We all know that when treating a pool you have to adjust the chlorine to the size of the pool and adjust the levels as the water temperature changes, when you have more swimmers or fewer swimmers, during rainy periods, etc Ozone basically works on the same theory. There will be times when you simply want to shock the area and situations where you need continuous levels of ozone. Like chlorine, ozone levels should be adjusted to the amount of odor, the size of area being treated, temperature, humidity, etc
Q) Is Ozone Safe?
A) Ozone is regarded as safe and has been awarded a GRAS rating (generally recognized as safe) by the American Food and Drug Administration. In practical circumstances any unused ozone quickly reverts to harmless oxygen. However, like virtually everything, even oxygen, ozone in high levels can be harmful. The rule of thumb is, if you can smell it turn it down. If you shock an area with high levels of ozone stay out of the area until it has had ample time to dissipate. Generally you can smell ozone distinctively at about .03ppm, which is well within the safety guidelines set by OSHA. However, it is important to follow manufacturers operating procedures to insure that you are using the product safely.
